Saints Row: The Third is definitely a great game, but most players can't really say that it's a hard title to get through. Weapons and upgrades are abundant across the board, and don't exactly make for a challenging experience. Most players will find the game to be an easy ride. Gamers who want more of a challenge with Saints Row: The Third should check out this challenge mod , which — true to its name — makes the game harder but not unfair.
From more difficult and more abundant enemies to lower health reserves, this mod is certainly not for gamers who want a more laidback experience with this title. For those who love a challenge, though, it's perfect. Players who want a more realistic — and slightly less forgiving — experience while playing Saints Row: The Third should definitely download this mod. It might go against the over-the-top nature of this game , but it can certainly be a fresh change of pace for players who want a bit more variety from their repeated playthroughs.
Everything from money to upgrades becomes quite scarce, and firefights become much more challenging as well. Players need to utilize proper tactics and manage their resources efficiently to get through the game in one piece. Fans of Bethesda titles might be elated at the idea of an unofficial patch existing for Saints Row 3.
However, unlike the same patches for the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games, this particular patch doesn't really fix many bugs. Instead, it tweaks some of the mechanics to alter and improve the balance of the game.
The biggest change in this regard is that the main character's health is the same as NPCs. It basically adds new cheats that will allow you to spawn rare vehicles in the game. And this goes beyond all the really fun cars you can already get in vanilla. It lets you access a plenty of unique rides and have a lot more fun. So this mod brings us a ton of customization options to the table, allowing you to make many more changes to your homies and the way your character looks.
But worry not — since I downloaded it, I can tell you that you can expect lots of good out of it! The Unofficial Patch 1 has the main objective of making the game environment feel more realistic, which some might say is a bit of a bummer, but it does grant you a different SR: The Third experience. A basic mod, but it adds a ton of new customization options to the game.
So it gets a good spot on my list for sure. It simply transfers the hair assets from SR4 to SR3, which gives you the option to put any hairstyle from the newest game into one of your characters in The Third.
This one is an even better modification of the game than the last mod pack on my list, as it only adds some minor changes that improve certain key aspects of Saints Row. But it also comes with a ton of graphic improvements that will enhance the way the game looks by a ton. And the changes make gameplay even more fun.
